Providing more than just storage means helping the community that we live in.

With deep roots in the Okanagan, our family-owned business takes great pride in our community; by contributing to the place that we call home, we want to ensure that our business serves a meaningful purpose to our community.

One of the ways we do this is by providing preferred rates to non-profit organizations. They do so much for the people in our region that we want to give back — as best as we can. We have supported many local organizations over the years, and we want to give them a shout-out! 

People In Motion

This local Kelowna non-profit organization has been helping people with varying abilities that improve their life experiences. People in Motion provide equipment rentals, host events, and give people of all ages and ability ranges the chance to explore the Okanagan.

Louise Abbott, Executive Director at People In Motion, recalls contacting Space Centre Storage 11 years ago to find a space to store their adaptive recreational equipment. The location of the storage facility was a factor for this non-profit organization. She was thrilled when she discovered Space Centre Storage along Adams Road.

Louise expresses her admiration for this local storage company, “They have been super with us. The team at Space Centre Storage have provided us with great service and have responsive staff members. It is a very secure facility to hold our expensive equipment.”

Recently, the organization needed a storage yard to keep the organization’s wheelchair-accessible bus safe. Unfortunately, the catalytic converter was stolen frequently at their location during the string of thefts throughout the city. That is why Louise reached out to Yvonne and her team to store their specialty bus in a safe place. Because of their long-term working relationship, Yvonne and her reservations team updated Louise to secure her a parking spot inside their vehicle storage yard as soon as there was an opening.

Central Okanagan Youth Soccer Association

Stretching from Peachland to Lake Country, this non-profit organization provides Grassroots and Academy Level soccer programs for girls and boys ages 5 - 18. Programs like these aid in childhood development, give kids an opportunity to socialize outside of school, and build interpersonal and motor skills.

Stuart Wright, Central Okanagan Youth Soccer Association Chair Member, contacted Space Centre Storage in Kelowna last year when the Grassroots registrants saw a dramatic decline due to COVID-19. The association needed a space that would hold all of their equipment and files while they patiently waited for the time to come when youth soccer could start up again.

He expressed his enthusiasm about the storage facility saying, “Space Centre Storage is fantastic for our needs because you can drive into the facility and use the carts provided. The storage building has elevators to help us move goalposts and other heavy items. The building is very secure, and there is always someone there to greet you.”

As our community grows, the need for these non-profit organizations increases. These groups continue to support a healthy neighborhood through arts, sports, health, fundraising, and more! We want to show our appreciation for what they do every day in the best way we can — by giving them more space.

Each year, we discount $30,000 non-profit organizations throughout the Okanagan to support these community focused groups.
